Biography

Steve has been a musician for 50 years; he started playing drums in 1967 and was a session player in the 70’s and 80’s, most recently playing in a 10 piece rhythm and blues band all of which has given Steve a broad knowledge of music.

The aim of The Song Remains the Same is to play interesting and different songs that are not often heard on radio then talk about them with his co-presenter Jerry Padfield who is also an accomplished musician but a generation younger, making the show a mix of interesting music and informative chat.

Steve was diagnosed with Parkinson’s in 2010 and had to give up playing drums in 2016. He has difficulty speaking but loves presenting these shows. Steve is also on the team of SourceFM’s mental health show A Space To Speak Your Mind
